Cambodia’s police prevent monks’ marking 1 year anniversary of the death of five garment workers. This month Cambodia, Vietnam and Bangladesh government’s supposed to implement pre-agreed 28% minimum wage increase.
This would take Cambodian workers to $68 a month. That’s about 20 cents an hour…. let’s hope the big textile factories/buyers/retailers feel moved to do the right thing so there is at least some actual benefit to the lives of the regions 60 million garment workers.
